Upgrade to Ubuntu 8.04June
01
I have finally upgrade my Ubuntu install to Hardy... Wasn't so easy. It takes more than 1 hour downloading the files, I know, this isn't Ubuntu's servers fault, but, I was supposed to download 1585 files, fortunately I had copied the files from another machine here in ICT Consulting that was upgraded yesterday, from where I grab ~1200 files. So, 300 files in 1 hour, 1200 should be 4 hours (aprox). The upgrade, indeed is easy, just run the upgrade manager and you have your system upgraded. But, that doesn't mean that you don't have to do anything else, my nvidia driver wasn't working, and I thought it was because I use envy to install the nvidia driver in Gutsy. So, I remove envy and then install the nvidia-glx-new package, didn't work. So, looking for in the system I realize that the restricted drivers manager wasn't working properly, diving there I found that it miss one package, the restricted driver manager for my kernel. I have to install it and then my nVidia work again. Is nice when you can upgrade your favorite distribution, even when you have to repair your installation after the upgrade.
